About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year minimum License: Pending License accepted, but quick starts preferred Certifications: BLS, PALS Must-Have: Weekend coverage required, EOW Description: Local travelers with permanent residence within 50 miles of the facility will not be eligible for a travel contract. Position is for a Pediatric RN. Start date is ASAP. Shifts require 3x12 Night Shift. Weekend requirement is every other weekend. Certifications required include BLS and PALS. On-call requirement is not applicable. Traveler will need to float between like units. Block scheduling is not available at this time. All RTO must be included with submittal. Pediatric Unit is located within the Post Partum Unit. Common patient diagnoses include Pediatric Asthma, Bronchiolitis, other Upper Respiratory infections, suicidal ideation, other Psych issues, post surgical cases, failure to thrive, jaundice, and non-accidental trauma. Hospital type is Short Term Acute Care with a total of 325 staffed beds. Charting system utilized is Epic. Daily census is typically 3 with 6 rooms and 6 beds available for pediatric patients. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary. Special equipment available includes Vapotherm High Flow. References required include 2 references covering 1 year within the last 3 years. Modules are non-billable, averaging 16 hours spent, with any additional hours requiring approval. Modules are completed pre-start and annually. Completion of modules is recorded in transcripts.
