Job Title Director of International Outreach and Recruitment (E) Director of International Outreach and Recruitment SALARY: $94,523.60 - $101,449.36 LOCATION: Lynnwood, Washington Description: Under the general direction of the Executive Director of the Office of International Programs, this position provides leadership in the development, implementation, and management of the College¿s strategic annual international outreach and recruitment plan. The position establishes enrollment forecasts and recruitment goals, analyzes market and admissions data, develops country-specific recruitment strategies, manages the international outreach and recruitment budget, and identifies initiatives to increase international student enrollment. The Director develops and manages relationships with international institutions, education agencies, and university partners; supports the development of new international partnerships in collaboration with the Executive Director; and oversees outreach activities, in‑country contractors, and international recruitment efforts. This is an exempt position that reports to the Executive Director of the Office of International Programs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Serve as a subject matter expert on current policies, procedures, and regulations relating to the College¿s international community, particularly in the areas of international outreach, recruitment, and admissions. In partnership with the Executive Director of OIP and the Director International Marketing, develop and manage the College¿s annual strategic comprehensive international outreach and recruitment plan, with target goals and objectives specific to individual countries. This plan is based on multiple complex factors and activities for each country, including return on investment (ROI). Keep abreast of current global, national, and local trends and analyze information related to international education and their impact on recruiting and retaining international students. As part of the OIP leadership team, provide continuous training to the OIP team on issues of relevance to international enrollment and recruitment. Establish international enrollment forecasts and recruitment goals based on historical data, market trends, institutional priorities, and available resources. Identify and implement strategic initiatives and incentives to increase new and continuing student enrollment. Negotiate and manage incentive strategies to increase application and referral production with overseas business partners. Develop and manage the International Outreach/Recruitment budget. Analyze weekly admissions application and country‑specific data and quarterly individual agency partner performance, to determine alternative or additional courses of action to increase student referrals and enrollment. Work collaboratively with the Executive Director of the Office of International Programs to identify, develop, and implement new international partnerships that support the College¿s strategic priorities and internationalization goals. Identify and develop relationships with overseas institutions, including secondary and post‑secondary institutions and student recruitment agencies. Develop and manage Memoranda of Understanding, agency referral agreements, and related partnership agreements. Work closely with the Associate Director of Transfer Advising to manage articulation and transfer pathway agreements with university partners. Provide training to partners on the college programs and services available to international students, the U.S. education system, (including 2+2 associate degree and university transfer processes), the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) and immigration policies related to F‑1 students, and with the college¿s business practices. Collaborate with the international marketing team to ensure recruitment materials, including flyers, videos, and multimedia presentations. Provide leadership and supervision of OIP staff. Hire, train, and supervise in‑country contractors who oversee the College¿s outreach and recruitment efforts in other countries as needed. Develop and oversee contractor agreements, including statements of work, country budgets, and responsibilities. Travel overseas to represent the College in outreach and recruitment activities approximately three and up to six (3¿6) months of the year. Identify and participate in virtual and face‑to‑face outreach and recruitment activities, including recruitment fairs, college‑specific presentations, and webinars. Collaborate as part of a dynamic and multifaceted team, fill in and collaborate with other OIP service areas when needed, and work with campus faculty and staff to provide support and information regarding international students. This position serves as the person in charge of International Marketing in the absence of the Director of Marketing. This position can serve as the person in charge of the Office of International Programs in the absence of the Executive Director. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor¿s degree in International Education, Marketing, or closely related field Three years full time experience in a professional marketing or recruitment position One year experience traveling and working abroad on business or on a project basis Two years of experience analyzing and interpreting complex data and information Experience negotiating contracts/agreements Demonstrated ability working effectively with students, their parents and overseas business partners Valid Passport and ability to travel to assigned destinations. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Five years or more full‑time experience working at a college or university in a recruitment or marketing role. Five years or more experience in a position requiring marketing, sales and/doing business overseas. PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is typically performed in an office setting and onsite/in‑person and overseas. Recurring early/late hours (weekend/early morning/evening meetings). This position requires the ability to drive and use a personal vehicle, and travel 3-6 months each year. The ability to make sound judgments is essential. The ability to sit at a desk/computer station, bend, stoop, walk, and generally move around the office to consult with others, work within a busy environment and remain focused on tasks. Inventory management requires some lifting and moving of objects up to 30lbs. Excellent communication skills are essential. This includes the ability to speak clearly and fully comprehend written and spoken English and will include communication with people for whom English is not their first language. COMPENSATION: Salary is $94,523.60 - $101,449.36 and is based on the Edmonds College administrative/exempt salary schedule, plus a full state benefits package, which includes tuition waivers for college classes, medical, dental, retirement options and more. Vacation and leave package includes 12 sick days per year, 11 scheduled holidays, 1 personal holiday, and 24 vacation leave days per year. WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., including some evenings and weekends. FLSA Status: The position is an exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act requirements.
