**Required Experience and Skills:** - Minimum 2 years of experience - Proficient in cardiac monitoring (on unit monitoring) - Management of chest tubes - Fresh tracheostomies - Feeding tube care and management - Care of post-operative patients - Epidurals - Management of non-titratable cardiac drips - IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips - External BiPAP/CPAP - Total laryngectomy - Doppler flap checks - Patient Ratio Experience: 3-4 **Preferred Experience:** - Previous Charge Experience - Trauma Level I Experience - Charting System Experience (Cerner) - Arterial and central line experience - Fresh tracheostomy and laryngectomy experience - Chest tubes and variety of surgical drains - Experience in PCU or ICU - Care of the inpatient post-op patient - Enteral Feedings **Certifications:** - ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) **Licensure:** - License must be in hand prior to start date. Temporary licenses may be obtainable once permanent license applications have been submitted. **Qualifications and Requirements:** - Two supervisor references required - Floating is 100% required of all travelers - Travelers University must be accredited by the ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation - SSN and DOB required at time of submittal - Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays **Leadership and Clinical Experience:** - Charge nurse responsibilities may be needed - Experience in managing dysrhythmias - Blood product administration - Central line care/management - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - Isolation Precautions/PPE - Non-invasive airway management - PCA management - Peripheral Line Care/Management - PICC line management - Starting and maintaining IVs - Surgical drains - Wound Care/Wound Vac **Special Equipment Experience:** - BiPAP/CPAP - Epidural analgesia - PCA - Thrombolytic Agents - Wound Care/Wound Vac - Total laryngectomy and flap checks **Other Requirements:** - Must agree to the possibility of precepting and/or being assigned students to shadow them while on assignment.
