Nurse Educator Periop Services - Professional Development

Position: RN Nurse Educator / Nursing Professional Development Practitioner Location: Providence Saint John's Health Center, Santa Monica, CA Schedule: Full‑time, 8‑hour day shifts Pay Range: $57.28 - $88.92 per hour (base) plus potential additional compensation. Job Overview Supports training within the Perioperative Services department, fostering evidence‑based nursing care and staff development. Responsibilities Assess learning needs of bedside nurses and develop educational programs. Plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Use simulation, interactive case‑based online teaching, and competency validation methods. Measure educational outcomes to evaluate effectiveness. Promote empowerment and excellence in nursing practice. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. California Registered Nurse license. American Heart Association BLS certification. Minimum 3 years Acute Care RN experience. Minimum 1 year of staff development experience. Within 2 years, hold Nursing Professional Development Board Certification or Nursing Education credential. Experience with simulation in healthcare. Experience with interactive, case‑based online teaching/learning methods. Experience with both knowledge and skills based competency validation. Experience with outcomes measurement to evaluate effectiveness of education. Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in Nursing or related professional development field. Additional specialty certification applicable to practice. At least 2 years in Operating Room and/or PACU specialization.
