This full-time contract opportunity immerses you in a supportive school environment in the Del Mar/San Diego area, where your expertise as an Intervener will make a daily difference. You’ll work closely with educators and families, utilizing your advanced communication skills to empower a young learner and foster their development.

Desired Qualifications:

• Proficiency in sign language, with the ability to interpret and communicate effectively
• Holds an Intervener Certificate from an accredited university
• Experience working as a paraprofessional or sign language interpreter, ideally with pediatric or elementary school-aged children
• Compassion, patience, and a sincere commitment to helping students with unique needs
• Reliable and able to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of specialists and educators

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner 1:1 with a first-grade student, supporting their learning, communication, and socialization
• Serve as a vital bridge between the student, their peers, and the instructional team
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the individualized needs of a deafblind learner
• Maintain accurate records of progress, daily activities, and communication logs
• Foster a safe, accessible, and encouraging learning atmosphere
