Financial Controller – Personal Injury Department Georges Cote LLP is one of Massachusetts' largest and fastest-growing personal injury law firms, with more than 100 professionals committed to delivering exceptional results and client service. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Controller to join our Personal Injury Department in our Chelsea, Massachusetts office. This is a full-time, on-site position for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working in a collaborative, high-volume setting. Responsibilities Review and validate settlement proceeds, incoming payments, and receivables. Prepare and issue client settlement checks, lien payments, medical payments, and attorney fee disbursements. Reconcile settlement funds and ensure all financial transactions are accurate and timely. Communicate directly with clients regarding settlement payments, disbursement timelines, and financial questions. Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and the accounting team to ensure efficient processing of settlements. Maintain accurate financial records and assist with reconciliations and internal reporting. Ensure compliance with firm accounting procedures and trust accounting requirements. Qualifications 3+ years of accounting, finance, or controller experience. Experience handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial controls. Law firm experience is a plus. Personal injury law firm experience is strongly preferred. Experience with NetSuite is a plus. Experience with TD eTreasury or similar treasury management platforms is a plus. Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong communication and customer service skills.
