Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse position located in San Francisco, California. This role involves providing specialized surgical nursing care within a variety of surgical specialties, including neuro, cardiac, orthopedic, ENT, plastics, eye, urology, thoracic, gynecology, vascular, hematology/oncology, bone marrow transplant, and organ transplant. Candidates are required to bring their current California Registered Nurse license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Location: San Francisco, California
• Schedule: 12-hour days, minimum 36 hours per week
• Specialties: Neuro, Cardiac, Orthopedic, ENT, Plastics, Eye, Urology, Thoracic, Gynecology, Vascular, HemOnc, BMT, Organ Transplant
• Experience: At least 2 years of pediatric Operating Room experience and prior travel assignment required
• Certifications: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); California Registered Nurse license required
• Skills: Administration of blood & blood products, various surgical procedures including Fistulectomy, ACL reconstruction, Appendectomy, Arthroscopy, Cataract extraction/implant, Central venous line insertion/removal, Cholecystectomy, Circumcision, Cleft lip/palate repair, Craniectomy, Craniotomy, Cystoscopy, Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, Endoscopic equipment, Excision of Hemangiomas, Exploratory laparotomy, Eye muscle surgery, and many other advanced surgical skills
• Travel: Experience with travel assignments required; floating may be required to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius
• Unit and Patient Care Details: Surgical specialties with interdisciplinary support including respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, interpretation services, and rapid response teams; daily census of approximately 30 patients across 10 beds/rooms; patient age groups include neonates, infants, adolescents, and pediatrics
• Onboarding & Compliance: Complete health and safety documentation, including two negative TB tests (one within one year, the other within three months), COVID-19 vaccination, flu vaccination, and all required UCSF learning modules. Background checks and employment verification are in progress; references from most recent employer are required at submission.
