Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy Technician$22.74 per hour | Full-timeIn this role you will be responsible for organizing and maintaining pharmacy operations for the facility. The pharmacy technician utilizes appropriate skills in delegating, educating, and evaluating nursing staff to ensure that the pharmacy program operates in compliance with MTC Medical and customer directives.Why join the MTC team?Medical, dental, vision and prescription benefitsPaid vacation, sick time and holidays401(k), life insurance, disability coverage and employee assistance programEducation assistance, military leave and opportunities to make a meaningful differenceEducation and Experience Requirements: What you will doReceive and document medications, abiding by applicable state and national regulations.Ensure drug room security, replace facility working drug stock and maintain the upkeep of the facility drug room and pharmaceutical equipment.Ensure medication compliance is entered into the pharmacy computer system. Ensure that MARS are accurate and recorded as required.Practice basic cost containment and utilization management for patient care and facility operations. Perform quality assurance on all medication orders, narcotic/sharps count, and MARS as applicable,Maintain a current inventory of all supplies at established PAR levels.Re-order needed supplies, ensuring all purchase orders are maintained in a logbook. Match all invoices to purchase orders to ensure all items have been received.Set, with appropriate guidance, and maintain PAR levels. Maintain all pharmacy orders, logs and documentation.Serve on call for issues with pharmacy or pill call.Maintain absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records; observe applicable HIPAA rules.This position requires long periods of standing and walking.Regular and predictable onsite attendance is required.The incumbent is required to work overtime when directed to do so.Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed; provide regular feedback to staff regarding social skills procedures and intervention techniques.Maintain accountability of staff, detainees and property; adhere to safety practices.It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her scope of work as determined by management.Education and Experience Requirements: What you will needHigh school diploma or GED, current medication aide or pharmacy technician certification in the state of Arizona,Current CPR certification,US Citizenship or Lawful US Permanent Resident required.One year of experience in a hospital, clinic, correction or detention setting strongly desired.Must successfully complete required preservice training.Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.At MTC, we care about people and believe meaningful work can create lasting impact.
