The PTA assists residents in improving mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional abilities while maintaining accurate documentation and collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.Essential ResponsibilitiesResident Care & TreatmentDeliver physical therapy treatments and interventions as established by the Physical Therapist.Assist residents with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, transfer training, and functional mobility programs.Monitor resident response to treatment and report changes in condition or progress to the supervising Physical Therapist.Reinforce resident and family education regarding exercises, safety precautions, mobility techniques, and fall prevention.Assist residents in achieving established rehabilitation goals.Collaboration & CommunicationCommunicate effectively with Physical Therapists, nursing staff, physicians, residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.Participate in care planning and rehabilitation team meetings as requested.Promote positive resident outcomes through teamwork and collaboration.Documentation & ComplianceComplete timely, accurate, and compliant treatment documentation.Maintain therapy records in accordance with facility policies and payer requirements.Ensure compliance with HIPAA, infection control, and safety standards.Follow all regulatory and professional practice guidelines.Quality & Resident ExperienceProvide compassionate, resident-centered care.Support facility quality improvement initiatives.Contribute to a positive rehabilitation experience for residents and families.QualificationsRequiredCurrent California Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) LicenseLicense in good standingGraduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant programStrong knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and therapeutic interventionsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare teamStrong documentation and organizational skillsCommitment to providing exceptional resident careAbout McKinley Park Care CenterMcKinley Park Care Center is dedicated to providing exceptional skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and post-acute care services in a compassionate and supportive environment.
