Hourly Job Description Group Company: Old Dominion Mechanical, LLC Designation: Plumbing Mechanic Office Location: Charlottesville, VA Position Description: Old Dominion Mechanical, LLC is currently seeking a Plumbing Mechanic for our team at our Charlottesville location. Our plumbing mechanic would be working with our foreman’s/ superintendents to provide exceptional commercial plumbing needs to our current clients. Primary Responsibilities: Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in commercial buildings, including but not limited to office spaces, retail establishments, and industrial facilities Review/ interpret blueprint & technical drawings to determine layout of plumbing and related materials. Identifies and safely uses required tools and special equipment. Tests & inspect plumbing systems and fixtures to identify issues and perform necessary repairs and or replacements Maintains documentation for all building codes, installation requirements, and relevant legislation. Performs scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures. Applies all codes to installations, repairs, and maintenance. Ensures all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met. Ensures all installations, repairs, and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported, and graded; that they meet the requirements of the appropriate codes; and that they meet environmental protection requirements. Keeps daily reports. Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient project completion Comply with all safety guidelines and regulations Additional Responsibilities: Train and mentor apprentices as needed Identify and recommend improvements to project workflows Participate in safety meetings and adhere to all site-specific safety protocols Provide feedback to supervisors on material needs or system performance issues Required Skills Minimum 3 years of experience in the Commercial Plumbing industry. Proven experience as a Commercial Plumbing Mechanic. Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skills. Knowledge of basic electricity, electrical and control systems. Ability to read, understand, and work from blueprints, specifications, and schematics. Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings. Must adhere to all company policy and procedures.
