Position Description The Production Supervisor will drive production results through ownership and accountability; ensure budgeted performance is reached on all lines; meet line performance objectives including changeover objectives; maintain washouts to required timelines; limit downtime. The position works with maintenance to ensure appropriate operations/maintenance handshakes, PM program adherence, training/knowledge sharing; communicate and redirect maintenance efforts to meet quality and productivity goals. Develop and implement systems to improve production efficiencies that are sustainable and repeatable. Schedule: Nights, 5:30 pm – 6:30 am, 2–2–3 shift. Essential Functions Adhere to and ensure compliance with all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and PPE requirements. Adhere to and ensure compliance with food quality and food safety standards such as SQF. Lead and direct the work of other employees. Exercise authority for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions. Conduct daily meetings with shift leads to identify and resolve issues. Draft and post weekly employee schedules based on production requirements and communicate with the department manager regarding problems or changes. Collaborate closely with all departments to improve quality, drive efficiencies, increase yields, and eliminate out‑of‑specification or damaged products. Foster a positive team environment. Maintain operational knowledge of manufacturing processes and ancillary equipment. Perform changeovers efficiently and carefully, ensuring correct settings and parts are installed and no mechanical defects exist. Record all necessary information for production and quality records. Keep accurate downtime reports and documentation. Possess a practical understanding of SQF and HACCP and address inquiries related to both. Read, comprehend, and adhere to a production manufacturing schedule, SOPs, and effectively communicate issues or deviations. Identify production or machine‑related issues using visual and auditory cues. Perform minor machine maintenance and daily and weekly preventive maintenance. Conduct required GEMBA walks through the plant. Execute all end‑of‑shift duties to ensure smooth transition for the incoming shift. Facilitate and/or provide training and cross‑training to assure production schedules are met within budget, product specifications, quality requirements, and safety standards. May be designated to oversee a specific plant area, such as blow molding. Requirements Required skills: Experience in a fast‑moving packaged goods environment; beverage production experience preferred. Solid understanding of production machinery/forklifts and technical issues. Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure. Forklift certification may be required. Availability for shift work. Commitment to continuous improvement: identify opportunities for process improvement and implement lean manufacturing principles. Proficient troubleshooting of process and equipment issues to minimize downtime and waste. Documentation skills: accurate recording of production data and paperwork. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures; enforce safety protocols and train team members; complete monthly Alchemy training. Effective communication with team members and supervisors; report issues accurately. Training and development: train new hires and provide ongoing opportunities for existing team members. Leadership: lead and motivate a team, resolve conflicts, provide feedback. Ownership: take responsibility for challenges and think independently. Time management: multitask and prioritize tasks to meet production deadlines. Education and Experience Minimum high school diploma or equivalent (GED). Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Food Science, Business or related discipline preferred. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably beverages. SAP experience is a strong asset. Working Conditions Fast‑paced, repetitive environment requiring concentration amid changing stimuli. Noise levels require hearing protection; temperatures may vary. Work schedule includes weekdays, weekends, afternoons, evenings, overnight, and holidays. Floor presence expectation: minimum 75 %. Travel Requirements Travel anticipated: Rarely.
