Duties and responsibilities may include the following:Job ScopeResponsible for working with wood to build and repair structures and other items and they also may have to select and source appropriate materials depending on project needs. Their duties include calculating quotes, meeting with clients, and creating design plans for remodeling projects.Position RequirementsValid TWICValid OSHAWill be required to take Marathon Site OrientationMust be able to pass hair follicle testMust be able to pass criminal background checkRequired SkillsMUST HAVE 5 YEARS MIN EXPERIENCEProven experience as carpenterAbility to read construction drawings and blueprintsAbility to take measurements and calculating the size and amount of material neededStrong oral & written communication skillsAbility to work effectively with othersExcellent organizational skills, ability to multi-taskGood physical condition and enduranceGood understanding of basic mathDuties/ResponsibilitiesRead blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirementsProficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.)Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and constructionTake measurements and calculate the size and amount of material neededCut, shape, and smooth lumber and other material (e.g., fiberglass) according to measurementsBuild window frames, doors, staircases, and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed itemsLay out floorings, roofings, or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatibleCarve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves, and other items and install them where designatedInspect places and conduct repairs or maintenanceBuild scaffolding and other construction structuresManage housekeeping activities when requested.Maintain the work area clean, safe, and organized.Assist in waste disposal and recycling activitiesCleanup work area and equipment after work is completed.Execute daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner.Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high-quality standards.Practice safety procedures in accordance with training and guidelines when working.Comply with company policies and legal guidelines, helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environmentMeet quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standardsReport safety hazards, quality, and production issues to management immediatelyPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to use hand and power tools.Have endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time.Will be required to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, and crawl to perform tasksAbility to work outdoors in harsh weather conditionsAbility to work in varying hot and cold environmentsAbility to work in an environment with exposures to dust, dirt, and various other debris, metal and paint fumes, gasesWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditionsThe employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shockDocuments RequiredDriver's License/IdentificationSocial Security Card/Birth CertificateMust be able to provide own PPE (Hard hat, steel toes, safety glasses, & gloves)Must have reliable transportation (Traveling will be required depending on location of current assignment)Must be able to pass a drug screenPay$20 - $25 (Based on experience)Weekly PayPay Schedule: Monday - SundayScheduleMonday - Friday (Weekends as Needed)10-12 Hour Days (with weather permitting)Duration of Job2 - 3 MonthsTasks beyond those listed above will be asked of you, so a positive, can-do attitude is required.
