In the development phase, he/she must collaborate with our WSS Design team to drive root-cause investigations of the product performance issues and support developing and improving WSS assembly processes. He/she will be responsible for improving production efficiency and reducing manufacturing cost in the NPI and scale-up phases. He/she must also develop statistical process control tools to monitor performance of the products in their Manufacturing phases and lead corrective action implementations for high yield manufacturing.Our TeamMolex possesses a rich heritage in the optical industry. Continuous innovation in passive component function integration, miniaturization, and manufacturing automation, cutting edge WSS and amplify technology and comprehensive optical, mechanical, electrical and software integration capabilities enable us to serve the needs of high-density, high-bandwidth, and flexible optical networks.In Bridgewater, we serve global clients in telecom and datacom industries in providing next generation optical modules to support next generation optical networks and 5G Networks.What You Will DoResponsible for developing and improving manual and automated assembly and test processes such as optical alignment and bondingFacilitate the implementation of engineering changes and process improvements throughout product life cycleReview existing processes and enhance them to improve yield, cycle time and qualityCreate assembly instructions, process documentation, preventative maintenance plans, and control plansTrain, certify, and audit technicians and operators to process documentationMonitor process performance using tools such as statistical process control (SPC)Responsible for resolving technical issues related to optical assembly processes in the design phase working with optical design and reliability teamsSupport production line moves and/or new product introduction by coordinating quality, materials, tools, production line layouts, and process developmentSupport year over year cycle time reductionsDevelop, create and manage Bill of Material (BOM) changes and support ongoing maintenance and accuracy in cooperation with other functionsWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering disciplineExperience with optical alignment and coupling, beam propagation rules and/or polarization optics.Experience manufacturing of optical component/sub-system manufacturing or a related components.Experience with optical performance parameters such as: Bandwidth, IL, PDL, PMD, CD, Ripple or specification sensitivity and interdependenciesExperience with a variety of optical test and measurement equipment such as: OSAs, polarization controllers, interferometers, TLS and/or ASE.Strong background in statistical analysis techniques and writing scripts for complex data analysis is highly desirable.What Will Put You AheadMaster’s or PhD highly desiredExperience in Fiber Optics industryExperience with DFM/DFTDWDM experienceSix SigmaFor this role, we anticipate paying $150,000 - $190,000 per year.
