About the Position

Job Title: Float Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med Surg/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Compact license required Certifications: BCLS required, ACLS, MAB, and NIH preferred Must-Have: Telemetry experience required Charge Nurse experience preferred Description: Floating is required. Travelers regularly float between various like units within their skill set. Position involves working night shifts 3 times a week. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 during day and night shifts. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience. First-time travelers are accepted. Weekend work is required every other week. On-call duties are not required. Telemetry experience is a must, with charge nurse experience preferred. Candidates may need to float between various like units. This position may include some charge responsibilities on smaller units. Charge responsibilities include managing staffing needs, bed flow, and general coordination. The patient population can include ER boarded patients, tele, med surg, and more. Experience in US hospitals is required; Canadian experience alone does not qualify. Compliance with floating is expected; refusal to float may result in termination. Communication devices may be provided by the client as needed for performing duties. Submission of references covering the last year is required prior to starting.
