Job Summary:
The Baltimore, Maryland area is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for a position in the Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit. The incumbent will be responsible for providing specialized postoperative care to patients recovering from cardiac surgery, including cardiac transplantation and lung transplantation. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of work.

Job Details:

• Position: Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Surgical ICU
• Unit Type: Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit
• Location: Baltimore, Maryland
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts; A/P (Afternoon/Evening) rotation or straight evening shift; minimum 36 hours per week; orientation scheduled on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month
• Required Qualifications: RN License; BLS (Basic Life Support); current experience with recovery of post-operative cardiac surgery patients in an ICU setting; trained and worked in a dedicated Open-Heart Unit receiving patients directly from the operating room; experience with ventilators, CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy), Swan-Ganz catheters, epicardial wires/pacemakers, vasoactive medication titration, level 1 intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), and ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation); 0 years of minimum experience required
• Preferred Qualifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support); Critical Care Certification; trauma course; Epic electronic medical record system experience
• Nurse/Patient Ratio: 1:1 or 1:2
• Additional Information: Candidates with previous employment in any capacity (staff, PRN, travel) within any Johns Hopkins facilities must be noted on the coversheet and in the work history to verify rehire eligibility. Candidates applying as travelers must be gone from any Johns Hopkins facility for at least one full year before applying.
