SAS has an opening for a Chemical Engineer who specializes in EVA rubber, SBR, TPU, PEBA and/or polyurethane (PU) formulations. JOB DESCRIPTION: Optimize PU resin/foam formulations to meet target specifications as well as help design and optimize EVA foam compounds. Lead trials of new formulations throughout the design and development process all the way to efficient manufacturing. Evaluate new raw materials, additives, fillers, etc., to improve product performance and reduce costs. Evaluate and modify processing methods including compounding, extrusion, injection molding, and curing/foaming processes. Troubleshoot issues related to material performance and equipment issues in manufacturing. Formulate bonding agents, adhesives, and coatings to ensure structural integrity. Conduct physical and chemical property testing on materials. Ensure all processes comply with international safety and environmental regulations. Support continuous improvement of plant operations and productions workflows. Manage and oversee trial runs throughout manufacturing process.
