Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego’s campus includes the O’Toole Breast Cancer Center, a 24‑hour emergency room that is a Level I Trauma Center, outpatient physical rehabilitation, minimally invasive robotic surgery, and our childbirth unit (including a Level II neonatal intensive care unit). The Security Officer supports Scripps Health through the performance of duties which provide a reasonably safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, employees, medical staff, and property. The role acts as a visible deterrent to criminal activity and actively patrols assigned areas. The officer ensures policies and procedures are carried out, reports non‑compliance, responds to emergency situations, and when appropriate provides guidance for safe management of the situation, communicating with leadership as necessary. Work is accomplished under the direction of security leadership. The officer demonstrates a work style that reflects the mission, vision, and values of Scripps Health. Qualifications - External Required Certification/Registration: California Driver's License. American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professionals. California BSIS CA Security Guard. Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: POST PC 832 Laws of Arrest. 1 year security, law enforcement, military, or related experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
