Position Overview The Division of Mental Health is seeking a contractor to serve as the Sexually Violent Persons Evaluator (Personal Services Contractor) to conduct examinations required by the SVP Act within specified time frames and to address the required questions established by the SVP Act, court order, or the Department. Examinations will include a written report to the Court within 30 days of the examination, review of records (arrest records, court documents, psychiatric and medical records), personal history, criminal history, sexual history, medical and psychiatric history, educational and employment history, mental status examinations, diagnoses, sexual risk assessment, and individual interview with the respondent. The contractor will provide consultation to involved lawyers, including preparing cases for hearings and trials. Essential Functions Serve as Sexually Violent Persons Evaluator. Conduct examinations that adhere to ethical practice, incorporate multiple sources of information, and use research‑supported methodologies. Prepare a written examination that includes a summary of opinions with psychological or psychiatric certainty. Opinions may cover qualifying offenses, mental disorders, volitional control, likelihood of future sexual offending, placement needs, readiness for conditional release or discharge, and other relevant legal questions. Provide consultation to involved lawyers, preparing cases for hearings and trials. Assist other contractors and examiners with quality review, consultations, and training as appropriate. Perform other duties reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications One (1) year of experience performing sex offender evaluations. Current license as a Clinical Psychologist by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation; or an Illinois license to practice psychology (license type and status as required). #J-18808-Ljbffr Australian Government Department of Human Services
