An AmLaw firm is seeking a 3rd–4th year Commercial Litigation Associate (Class of 2022–2023) to join its San Francisco office. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex business disputes within a sophisticated, fast-paced litigation practice, offering strong exposure to both state and federal court matters.

About the Role

You will join a collaborative litigation team handling high-level matters, working closely with partners and clients while gaining meaningful responsibility across all stages of litigation. This role is ideal for an associate looking to grow as a well-rounded litigator within a nationally recognised platform.

Responsibilities

• Managing written and document discovery
• Drafting pleadings, motions, and other court filings
• Conducting and defending depositions
• Preparing witnesses for testimony
• Appearing for status conferences and motion arguments in court
• Assisting with trial preparation and litigation strategy
• Participating in settlement discussions and negotiations

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of experience in commercial or complex business litigation
• Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills
• Experience in both state and federal court litigation
• Ability to manage workload in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Comfortable with direct interaction with partners and clients
• Strong academic credentials

Required Skills

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school
• Active membership and good standing with the California Bar (or eligibility for timely admission)

Pay range and compensation package

Salary range: $260,000 – $290,000
