Requirements

• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
• X-ray / Radiography Certification

Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution.
Current state-issued hygiene license.
CPR certification up to date.
Ability to administer local anesthetics and operate dental x-ray equipment.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong knowledge of oral hygiene and dental health principles.
Experience or willingness to work with solo doctor model and diverse patient insurance plans, including PPOs.

Job Description

Perform thorough dental cleanings, removing plaque, calculus, and stains from teeth and beneath gum lines using dental instruments.
Palpate lymph nodes under patients’ chins to check for soreness or swelling as part of oral cancer screening.
Review and evaluate patients’ medical and dental histories, noting relevant information for diagnosis and treatment.
Record dental decay, disease, and other oral health findings for dentist review.
Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide to ensure patient comfort during procedures.
Conduct digital X-rays and use intraoral cameras to assist in patient education and treatment planning.
Sterilize and sharpen dental instruments to maintain a safe, clean environment.
Collaborate closely with the dentist to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
Promote preventive dental care and educate patients on maintaining oral hygiene at home.
Utilize Curve DMS, Carestream, DEXIS, and CBCT technologies (preferred) and stay current with advances in dental technology and techniques.
Maintain a patient dental hygiene regimen that supports ongoing oral health.
