Chem-Impex International Sales Representative

Chem-Impex International is a family-owned distributor and manufacturer of high-purity research chemicals, serving the global life science research community since 1981. Headquartered in Wood Dale, IL, we support a catalog of 32,000+ products, with particular depth in peptide chemistry, amino acids, and diagnostics. It's a small, close-knit team where you'll learn fast, work closely with experienced colleagues, and see the direct impact of your work.

Role Overview

This role exists to support that growth by building meaningful, day-to-day relationships with the researchers, scientists, and labs we serve.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned customer portfolio to retain and grow existing relationships.
• Participate in customer calls, meetings, and check-ins to understand their technical needs.
• Assist in preparing and delivering product presentations, price quotes, and sales collateral.
• Learn the Chem-Impex catalog to accurately match customers with the right product solutions.
• Partner with marketing, customer service, and operations to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and pipeline activity in HubSpot.
• Gather and relay industry feedback to support our product strategy.
• Assist senior account managers with distributor support, roadshows, and industry events.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related life sciences field.
• A genuine drive to build a career in sales, business development, or customer-facing roles.
• A strong scientific foundation with the ability to learn and communicate technical product applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• An enthusiastic mindset, ready to learn, take initiative, and stay organized across multiple priorities.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for customer visits or industry events.

Compensation

• $50,000-$65,000 (BOE)
