Associate Director FSQA

Management Level M3

This position will be responsible for providing leadership, guidance and administration of Poultry location FSQA requirements and product specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Working with internal (poultry plant location and corporate business unit) and external (national accounts, distributors, etc.) customers.
• Analyzing data
• Reviewing regulatory compliance
• Attending customer or internal business unit meetings on behalf of Tyson Foods FSQA
• Presenting to external and internal customers
• Working with Business Unit and Sales on customer strategy
• Assist Corporate and Plant managers to ensure foodservice and retail customer requirements and product specifications are adhered to and to lend technical expertise when needed
• Investigating product complaints and data trends to determine cause and help determine solutions and interface directly with internal and external customers
• Directing the continued development and implementation of KPI, programs and procedures at individual plant locations; interacting with appropriate National Accounts customers, governmental regulatory agencies such as USDA and FSIS
• Interacting with appropriate departments within Tyson (Business Unit, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Operations, Research and Development and Scheduling) and external customers on quality and food safety related issues
• Updating, developing and maintaining corporate FSQA programs and procedures and their implementation at poultry locations.
• FSQA training and development
• Conducting plant audits / reviews to provide overview of plant systems associated with Tyson FSQA requirements, regulatory, food safety and product quality concerns
• Data review and analysis
• Other responsibilities as they are assigned or as the need arises.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical and/or science related field or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years of food safety quality assurance, operations, or poultry industry experience preferred.
• Computer Skills: Basic computer skills; knowledge of the Tyson Business. Computer System (PlantView, BOM, SAP-EIM and GSM) is a plus.
• Communication Skills: Ability to communicate with internal and external customers and Tyson Sr. Leadership is essential. Demonstration of excellent verbal and written communication skills within business.
• Supervisory: Position will have direct reports. The team member will lead a diversified team of poultry location FSQA Managers in 4 or more locations.
• Travel: intermittent- minimum 6 trips per year.
