Respiratory Equipment Technician

Description Respiratory Equipment Technician at Providence Portland Medical Center - Part‑Time, Benefited, Day Schedule position. Responsibilities The Respiratory Equipment Tech is responsible for the effective cleaning, inspection, proper sterilization, setup, and distribution of respiratory devices and equipment, including but not limited to noninvasive and invasive ventilators, high flow systems, pulse oximeters, medical gas tanks, etc. The technologist ensures necessary supplies are available for use on respiratory equipment. Works collaboratively with other departments such as Biomed to stage, retrieve, and locate equipment for repair, preventative maintenance, and regional sharing. Performs EKGs as necessary and directed by Respiratory care team. Is knowledgeable in procedures for preparing equipment for patient use and serves as a patient safety advocate.
