Job Description

Step into an impactful role as a General Education Math Teacher serving high school students for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time contract position runs from August 3, 2026, to May 27, 2027, with a schedule of 35 hours per week—Monday through Friday, following the school’s calendar. This is an exciting opportunity to foster student growth and achievement in a supportive educational environment near the New Orleans area.

Desired Qualifications:

Current, active Louisiana Department of Education teaching certificate (no TAT accepted).
Demonstrated experience teaching math at the high school level.
Enthusiasm for engaging students in a dynamic classroom setting.
Adaptability and readiness to meet students where they are academically.
Willingness to undergo district-required drug screening and fingerprinting, in addition to standard credential verifications.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and standards-based math instruction to high school students.
Assess student progress, provide feedback, and tailor lessons based on individual needs.
Collaborate with peers, support staff, and administration to enhance learning outcomes.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and associated documentation.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom community.
Participate in professional development sessions and school meetings as required.
