As the program lead for Leaves, Accommodations, and Workers' Compensation, you won't just process paperwork; you will be a vital lifeline for employees navigating life's most challenging moments. Whether they are recovering from an injury or caring for a loved one, you will serve as their trusted guide through complex regulations, ensuring every member of our staff feels supported and valued.

  • System Modernization: Source and launch a new, tech-forward leaves-tracking system.
  • Communication Design: Transform how we interact with employees on leave, elevating the experience to ensure they feel supported and informed.
  • Policy Innovation: Overhaul existing guidelines and documentation to ensure clarity, compliance, and ease of use.
  • Workforce Empowerment : Create and facilitate robust training programs that clarify roles in the leaves, accommodations, and workers' compensation processes-fostering a culture of shared efficiency and support.

Minimum Qualifications

Human Resources Analyst I
Education:
  • A Bachelor's degree in human resources, public or business administration, industrial relations, organizational psychology, or related field is required.
Experience:
  • One year of professional level human resources experience that demonstrates application of the above knowledge, skills and abilities in either the private or public sector is required.
  • Public sector experience is preferred.
  • Four years as a human resources technician that demonstrates application of the above knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted for the one year of professional level experience.
Human Resources Analyst II
Education:
  • A Bachelor's degree in human resources, public or business administration, industrial relations, organizational psychology, or related field is required.
Experience:
  • In addition to the Human Resources Analyst I experience requirements, two years of professional experience equivalent to that of a Human Resources Analyst I with the City of Fairfield.
LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATE (required for both levels):
  • Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License is required; possession of a valid equivalent is acceptable during the application process.
  • Associate in Risk Management certificate is desirable, but not required.

Due to the Public Employees' Pension Reform Act of 2013 / Assembly Bill 340, effective January 1, 2013, the retirement formula for all new PERS miscellaneous members is 2% @ 62.
