***This recruitment may close without further notice depending on the number of applications received. Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible***
Job Summary
The Division of Child and Family Services is seeking a full-time Psychiatric Caseworker for the Intensive In-Home Clinical Services Team. The program provides high-intensity, short-term, home and community-based interventions for youth from birth through age eighteen who are experiencing complex behavioral health needs. A small caseload model is utilized to deliver flexible, frequent, and highly focused support; providing and wrapping comprehensive services around families to promote stability and success. This position serves youth transitioning back home following out-of-home treatment, those at imminent risk for out-of-home placement who can be safely stabilized with frequent localized support, and youth requiring intensive interventions to thrive in their communities. The Psychiatric Caseworker will play a vital role in a collaborative team model, working either in tandem with a licensed clinician or independently based on family needs. In this hands-on role, the Psychiatric Caseworker serves as the lead provider for psychosocial rehabilitation services, basic skills training services, and care coordination, delivering direct interventions that help youth and families build lasting resilience and strength. Key responsibilities include acting as the lead provider for direct skill building, focusing on communication, relationship building, parenting strategies, and self-regulation skills. The position also contributes directly to the development and implementation of individualized safety and soothing plans, delivers real-time crisis stabilization interventions, and manages comprehensive care coordination to ensure families are seamlessly connected to necessary resources and supports. Additionally, the Psychiatric Caseworker serves as an active member of the Child and Family Team, provides input into the overarching treatment plan, and acts as a crucial liaison between all team members to support unified goals. Candidates must possess a strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed care, and family systems, along with a demonstrated ability to manage high stress situations calmly and effectively in community settings. Excellent communication skills and the ability to act as an objective liaison across multidisciplinary teams are essential, as is the ability to work flexibly and independently within a home and community-based service delivery model. The position offers manageable caseloads that ensure the time and bandwidth necessary to make a meaningful, lasting impact on every family served, all within an integrated team structure with strong clinical backing and peer support. This position typically works four 10-hour shifts per week. The current shift opening for the Psychiatric Caseworker is Tuesday-Friday, 11am-10pm. This position is eligible for shift differential pay and is covered under State Collective Bargaining Agreement, Unit E. Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or closely related human services field and two years of experience in a mental health or intellectual disabilities setting, one year of which must have included professional casework experience providing psychosocial rehabilitation services for a caseload consisting predominantly of individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities; OR one year of experience as a Psychiatric Caseworker I in Nevada State Service; OR an equivalent combination of education at or above the Bachelor's degree and experience as described above.
