Field Laborer

Description

Nelson Pipeline Constructors is looking for a field laborer to provide support and assistance in other field operations. The role of Laborer includes manual labor, as well as assisting other trades to the extent necessary with hands-on work.


Responsibilities:

• Working cooperatively with the crew to accomplish tasks
• Maintaining tools, cords and equipment so that they are kept in good working order and are safe for use
• Maintaining the work area(s) in a clean and orderly manner on a continuous basis
• Consistently reporting for work on time and in appropriate attire
• Assist in creating lists of materials, supplies, specialty tools and equipment (proactively) that are needed to perform the work
• Make the Superintendent/Foreman aware of any material, supply or other shortages on the job in a timely manner
• Participating in training and other forms of development to strengthen technical, safety and other skills
• Other job duties as assigned

Requirements

• A minimum of 0-3 years of directly related experience preferred
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds
• The ability to follow specific instructions
• Interpersonal competencies that include a drive for results, the need for closure, effective oral communication skills, organizational skills, ability to plan, being dependable and the ability to work with others in a team environment

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, climb, kneel, squat, crawl, lift, reach and more. The employee must frequently lift or move items of varying weight and occasionally lift or move heavier items with assistance.
