Kitchen Helper

The Kitchen Helper washes and stores all pots, pans, and utensils in the proper manner during the assigned shift.

Operates pot washing machine, making sure it is in proper working condition and, if not, reports it to the appropriate supervisor.

Scrape all pans and pre-washes before putting into washing machine. When washing is completed, empty tank, cleans inside and out with soapy water.

Washes pots by hand when machine is down, using prescribed amounts of soap and disinfectant. Ensures that all food, grease, and residue are removed. Changes water as needed for best results. Checks completed work for compliance with standards.

Ensure items are air dried before storing. Store in a neat fashion and rotate stock so all items get used regularly.

Keeps pot and storage racks clean, including surrounding floors and walls.

Keeps banquet plates and equipment clean and in storage.

Cleans kitchen machinery, walk-in cooler and tables.

Sweeps, scrubs and mops the floor at end of every shift.

Cleans walls, counters and food production areas. Cleans and organizes loading dock and related storage areas. May run pressure washer to clean items at season end.

Duties may include pressure cleaning, painting, and cleaning equipment for season closing.

Collects and disposes of all garbage in the kitchen.

Assists cooks in any food preparation such as peeling and cutting.
