About the Position

Contract | Rotating Shifts (Days, Nights, Rotating) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 28-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at a 1:2 or 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Care for patients undergoing cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgeries, as well as patients requiring ECMO, LVAD support, and heart transplant management
• Titrate critical care drips including inotropes, sedation, and all standard ICU vasoactive medications
• Interpret telemetry strips and respond to cardiac rhythm changes in a timely and clinically appropriate manner
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including intensivists, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, and CNAs available 24/7
• Adhere to weekend rotation requirements and integrate into the permanent staff holiday rotation schedule

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications>
• Demonstrated experience in a CVICU setting with cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery patient populations
• Proficiency in titrating critical care drips including inotropes and sedation agents
• Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CCRN certification
• Experience with ECMO, LVAD, and heart transplant patient care
• Familiarity with respiratory therapy equipment including ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP in an ICU environment
