Join Our Inpatient Behavioral Health TeamJoin a collaborative inpatient behavioral health team with a full-time schedule, excellent physician support, and an opportunity to care for both adult and adolescent patients.ScheduleFull-time: 20–22 shifts per monthMonday–Friday plus one weekend per monthDay Call: 1:3 (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)Night Call: 1:4 (5:00 PM – 8:00 AM)Weekend call: 1:4Practice HighlightsInpatient Behavioral Health settingCare for adults and adolescents (ages 8–17)36-bed Behavioral Health Unit (28 adult beds, 8 adolescent beds)Work alongside 3 Psychiatrists and 7 Advanced Practice ProvidersAverage 10–15 patients per dayAverage daily census: 18 patientsPsychiatrist supervision with co-signature supportCollaborative multidisciplinary team including nurses, social workers, recreational therapists, discharge planners, and behavioral health techniciansTeaching opportunities with nursing students, OT students, and Family Medicine residentsLevel III Trauma CenterEMR: Cerner (transitioning to Epic in September 2026)ResponsibilitiesPsychiatric evaluations and admission assessmentsPerform physical examinations and daily roundingDiagnose and manage psychiatric conditionsPrescribe and manage medicationsOrder and interpret diagnostic studiesCoordinate patient care with supervising psychiatristsHospital consults and emergency department admissionsPatient and family educationAddiction education and managementConditions TreatedPsychotic DisordersSubstance Use DisordersAnxiety DisordersPersonality DisordersDelirium, Dementia & Cognitive DisordersAdjustment DisordersChildhood & Adolescent Psychiatric DisordersSomatoform & Factitious DisordersRequirementsBoard Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Active Iowa License (required for immediate start) Minimum experience required (No new graduates)Interested?
