Brazer Job Opening

With a growing forecast of orders, we're expanding our Plattsburgh workforce and have several openings for Brazers. Job Summary

Brazers assemble and join metal components using a torch and filler materials in a controlled process that ensures strong, leak-proof, and durable joints.

Tasks You'll Be Performing

Metal Preparation

• Clean and prepare metal surfaces to ensure proper bonding.
• Align and secure parts using clamps, fixtures, or jigs.

Brazing Operations

• Apply flux and filler metal to joint areas.
• Use torches, induction heaters, or furnaces to heat metal parts to brazing temperature.
• Monitor temperature and timing to ensure proper bonding.

Quality Control

• Inspect finished joints for strength, leaks, and conformity to specifications.
• Perform pressure tests or visual inspections as required.
• Identify and correct defects or inconsistencies.

Blueprint and Specification Reading

• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
• Follow detailed instructions to meet product specifications.

Qualifications

• Previous brazing experience (preferred but not required).

Education Requirement

• Post-secondary education or related experience.

To Be a Success in This Role

• Willingness to braze copper joints with an open flame torch.
• Have an attention to detail.
• Have mechanical skills and be mechanically inclined.
• Written/verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to multitask and adapt to a highly dynamic environment.
• Good reasoning skills and sound judgement.
• Must be able to lift packages up to 50 pounds.
