We are seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Construction Estimator to help develop accurate, competitive bids for a general contractor. This role involves reviewing project documents, coordinating subcontractor pricing, and preparing clear cost estimates that support successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and organize construction drawings, specifications, bid requirements, and addenda to define project scope.
• Complete quantity takeoffs and estimate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor and overhead costs.
• Solicit subcontractor and supplier quotes; compare proposals and identify scope gaps.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.
• Identify cost risks, clarify assumptions and exclusions, and suggest value-engineering options.
• Prepare bid packages and meet submission deadlines.
• Coordinate with project managers to transition awarded projects and maintain estimating records.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years’ experience estimating commercial construction projects, preferably with a general contractor.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications and understand trade scopes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and PlanSwift Estimating Software, Bluebeam, or other digital takeoff software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, written and verbal communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management preferred, but equivalent practical career experience may also be considered.
