Our technology enables it hard to decarbonize segments – such as trucks and buses – to move from diesel to cleaner fuel alternatives.We are looking for an ambitious and driven colleague that wants to work closely with our local operations team.Duties and ResponsibilitiesInterpret mechanical drawings and specifications to measure complex dimensions such as weld symbols, bend angles/locations, squareness, radius, thread sizes and port depthsConduct inspections and evaluations to identify nonconforming material and equipmentSupport the nonconforming material system to implement containment and dispositionsTrain Quality Inspectors on interpretation of complex mechanical drawings and proper measurement techniquesConduct targeted studies of process capability, and gage repeatability/reproducibilityCheck whether established control plans are adequate and effective in all phases of productionAssist manufacturing operations to quickly identify, contain and permanently resolve quality issuesPerform internal Quality Management System (ISO 9001) and process auditsMaintain aged checking and calibration systemsAssisting the improvement of product and service quality by conducting root cause analysis, planning corrective and preventive actions, and verifying the results (8D)Represent the Quality Team as a point of contact for daily production supportTrain quality inspectors on complex mechanical drawings and proper measurement and inspection techniquesReview supplier PPAP's for conformance and approve/reject as necessarySupport the creation of customer PPAP's (dimensional reports, bubbling prints and other aspects assigned by QE)Have the flexibility to adjust work hours to meet manufacturing schedule requirementsPerform all other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, conditional formatting)Knowledge of effective and proactive product quality planning to be able to support the development and launch of new productsEncourages, motivates, and collaborates with othersAbility to work independently with minimal oversight is requiredAnticipates needs and problems while crafting solutionsAbility to achieve planned results by utilizing organization, prioritization and communication skills within a team environment is required. This includes recognizing internal customer expectations and deciding priorities accordinglyAttention to detail is requiredAbility to understand complex situations, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions is requiredEffective written and oral communication skills related to quality and technical issues are requiredAbility to report status, performance and results is required.Credentials and ExperienceHigh School diploma or GED required3+ years' experience in a quality assurance or quality control role is requiredExperience working in a manufacturing or industrial work setting is requiredAbility to interpret mechanical drawings and specifications is requiredGeometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience is desiredExperience with ISO 9001 requirements is preferredExperience with precision measurement devices and equipment is requiredWorking knowledge and proficiency with SPC, gage R&R, and basic quality tools (check sheets, flow charts, control charts, histograms, and scatter diagrams) is preferredWork EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.Physical DemandsThe employee must lift and/or move up to 10 pounds on a limited basis and up to 50lbs occasionally. The employee must regularly use stair sand kneel to perform inspections. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
