Job Description Job Description The HHA & CNA perform personal care activities contained in a care plan written by a licensed health professional, employed or contracted by the agency and which include assisting the client with

1. Personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, and shaving;
2. Ambulation and physical transfer;
3. Eating, and providing nutritional support;
4. Assistance with other ADLs and IADLs; and
5. Reporting changes in the client’s condition;
6. Maintaining a clean, safe and healthy environment, which may include light cleaning and straightening of the bathroom, straightening the sleeping and living areas, washing the clients or clients dishes or laundry, and such tasks to maintain cleanliness and safety for the client;
7. Other activities as taught by a licensed professional, employed or contracted by the agency for a specific client and that are restricted to the following:

§ Assisting with tasks associated with elimination:
o Toileting
o Assisting with the use of the bedpan and urinal
o Changing disposable continence product
§ Assisting with the use of devices for aid to daily living such as a wheelchair or walker;
§ Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises;
§ Measuring temperature, pulse, respiration or blood pressure;
§ Keeping records of personal health care activities on the form specific to the agency;
§ Observing the appearance and gross behavioral changes in the client or client and reporting to the registered nurse;
