Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
MisFit Project ABA, LLC is seeking dependable, compassionate, and energetic Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to provide individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children. RBTs work directly with clients under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to build communication, social, play, adaptive, and independence skills while reducing behaviors that interfere with learning and daily functioning.

Job Summary

The RBT will provide direct 1:1 ABA therapy in clinic, home, school, and/or community settings based on client needs and authorization. This position requires someone who enjoys working directly with children, can follow individualized treatment protocols, accurately collect data, communicate professionally with families and supervisors, and maintain consistency with scheduled services.

RBTs receive ongoing BCBA supervision, training, modeling, and performance feedback. We are looking for team members who value consistency, communication, professionalism, and individualized care.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 ABA therapy according to BCBA-developed treatment plans and behavior intervention plans. 
• Implement skill-acquisition programs targeting communication, social interaction, play, adaptive functioning, transitions, independence, and other individualized goals. 
• Implement behavior-reduction and replacement-skill procedures as written and trained by the supervising BCBA. 
• Collect accurate, objective data during each therapy session. 
• Complete session documentation within required timeframes. 
• Use reinforcement, prompting, shaping, natural environment teaching, errorless teaching, functional communication training, and other ABA procedures as trained. 
• Support clients during toileting, hygiene, feeding/mealtime, transitions, and other adaptive routines when included in the treatment plan. 
• Identify and use client preferences and reinforcers to support engagement and learning. 
• Follow safety procedures and respond appropriately to challenging behavior according to the client's treatment and safety plans. 
• Maintain client dignity, confidentiality, and professional boundaries. 
• Participate in ongoing BCBA supervision, competency evaluations, staff training, and performance feedback. 
• Communicate promptly with supervisors regarding scheduling concerns, client concerns, significant behavioral changes, or barriers to treatment. 
• Maintain dependable attendance and arrive prepared for scheduled sessions. 
• Collaborate professionally with caregivers, teachers, school personnel, and other treatment-team members within the RBT scope of practice. 

Qualifications

Candidates must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and be able to successfully complete required background checks and other payer/employer requirements.

Current RBT certification through the BACB is preferred. Candidates working toward RBT certification may also be considered when appropriate. Applicants should be comfortable working with young children and clients who may engage in challenging behavior, including aggression, tantrums, elopement, property destruction, or self-injurious behavior.

Successful candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, reliability, willingness to receive feedback, the ability to follow written treatment protocols, and the ability to maintain professional documentation. Experience in ABA, early childhood education, special education, developmental disabilities, childcare, behavioral health, or a related field is preferred.
