Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit provides comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring and intensive care support.

Responsibilities:

• Provide critical care to patients in the PCU.
• Administer treatments and medications.
• Monitor patient status and provide updates to care teams.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and consult teams as needed.
• Conduct codes and provide care without a vascular access team.
• Expected to float to ICU, Med/surge, Med/tele, Acute/tele, and ED.

Requirements:

• 2 years of recent Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department experience.
• Experience with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and lab draws.
• Comfortable with managing open-heart patients Day 2 or Day 3 with pacer wires.
• KS RN or Compact RN License.
• BLS, ACLS, & NIH certifications.
• Weekend work required every other weekend.
• Flexibility to work holidays as needed.
