Perform specialized inspection work involving building construction and renovation to ensure compliance with established standards and ordinances, codes, rules, and regulations. Qualifications Required education level includes high school diploma. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Minimum 10 years of field experience. Candidates must be able to qualify within 30 days as a Building Inspector with the State of Michigan under Act 407. Values diversity in the workplace and in the community. Demonstrated ability to consistently and effectively provide a high level of service in accordance with the Novi Guest Service Guarantee Policy to all customers and visitors serviced by, as well as within in the City organization. This position is part of the Michigan Association of Public Employees (MAPE). The City of Novi and MAPE are currently in the process of negotiating a new contract.
