Travel RN Job Details Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico Start Date: October 26, 2026 End Date: January 25, 2027 Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460–$1,540 Schedule: 36 hours per week; 12-hour day shifts, approximately 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Additional Scheduling Option: A 48-hour schedule may be available Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients Patient Ratios: Approximately 6 patients per nurse Unit Census: Approximately 24 patients Weekend Requirement: Weekend shifts are required Floating: May float to like units within scope of practice Charting: Recent Epic experience required Local Candidate Policy: Candidates residing within 50 miles may not be eligible Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Requirements Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or a compact state; a pending New Mexico or compact license may be considered if obtained before the start date At least 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience required; 2 years preferred Current Basic Life Support certification Recent Epic electronic health record charting experience Strong ability to care for adult and geriatric patients in a Medical-Surgical setting Travel nursing experience is not required; first-time travel nurses are welcome to apply Ability to work weekends and float within the nurse’s clinical scope of practice Travel Nurse Responsibilities Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric Medical-Surgical patients Complete patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes Administer medications, blood products, oxygen therapy, insulin, and other prescribed treatments Manage peripheral and central lines, PICC lines, feeding tubes, chest tubes, surgical drains, wound care, and wound vacs as appropriate Monitor telemetry, recognize changes in patient condition, and respond appropriately to urgent or emergent situations Provide pre- and post-procedure care, including care for patients recovering from surgical and total joint replacement procedures Document nursing care accurately in Epic and communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team Collaborate with respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, phlebotomy, and rapid response teams Float to comparable units as needed while practicing within established competencies and scope of practice Apply now to join a Medical-Surgical nursing team and take your next travel RN assignment in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
