Position: Maintenance Manager
Pay Rate: $43.00/hour
Location: Stockton, CA

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance and reliability operations within a fast-paced, three-shift manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for managing preventative and predictive maintenance programs, developing technical teams, overseeing capital projects and budgets, and ensuring equipment operates safely and reliably at required production levels.

The ideal candidate has strong experience leading industrial mechanics, electricians, controls technicians, and maintenance supervisors , along with hands-on knowledge of CMMS systems, asset reliability, project management, and manufacturing equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage plant maintenance and reliability programs using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance programs.
• Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, work orders, parts inventory, and equipment maintenance records.
• Monitor equipment reliability and identify opportunities to reduce downtime and improve asset performance.
• Partner with production managers, corporate staff, consultants, and other departments to develop and execute improvement initiatives.
• Lead projects designed to improve safety, reduce operating costs, increase equipment reliability, and improve product quality .
• Manage capital projects from development through completion, including funding requests/AFEs, project scope, cost analysis, justification, scheduling, and implementation.
• Develop the technical capabilities of engineering and maintenance personnel.
• Lead, train, coach, and develop maintenance associates, supervisors, and technical work teams.
• Conduct annual employee performance evaluations and provide ongoing performance feedback.
• Ensure appropriate training is provided for newly implemented equipment, methods, technologies, and systems.
• Manage capital, labor, parts, contracted services, and departmental expense budgets .
• Lead cross-functional teams involving Engineering/Maintenance, Production, Procurement, and other departments to identify and implement operational improvements.
• Monitor and support achievement of established maintenance and operational KPIs .
• Ensure production equipment is capable of consistently producing product to specification and at the required production rate.
• Support achievement of production schedules, targeted efficiencies, and equipment design specifications.
• Provide leadership and technical support for daily operational troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Support and lead environmental initiatives and energy conservation programs.
• Identify, implement, and share maintenance and reliability best practices.
• Maintain a safe working environment and ensure team members follow established safety procedures.
• Perform additional maintenance management and operational responsibilities as assigned.

Leadership Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership for maintenance and technical personnel.
• Establish priorities and allocate maintenance resources based on production and operational requirements.
• Develop employees through training, coaching, mentoring, and performance management .
• Promote accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and a strong safety culture.
• Coordinate maintenance activities across a three-shift manufacturing operation .

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience leading and developing technical maintenance teams required .
• Experience supervising or leading industrial mechanics, electricians, controls technicians, and maintenance supervisors .
• Strong experience with CMMS systems and asset reliability management .
• Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Experience with maintenance planning, scheduling, work-order management, and parts management.
• Strong industrial equipment troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing capital projects, budgets, contractors, and maintenance expenses.
• Ability to analyze equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team-development skills.
• Ability to effectively manage cross-functional projects and improvement initiatives.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
• Ability to work flexible hours and shifts as needed to support a three-shift operation.
