CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.As our Pharmacy Tech, you will be a vital specialist, directly enabling the safe and efficient delivery of life-critical medications, ensuring our patients receive the right treatment to heal. You will play a crucial role in medication management and patient care support, contributing to exceptional healthcare outcomes.Every day you will expertly assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, meticulously filling and distributing unit-dose drugs, and facilitating seamless medication exchanges to nursing units. This includes conducting nursing unit inspections, replenishing floor stock supplies, and performing hourly medication deliveries.To be successful in this role, you will have a proactive, patient-focused approach, consistently striving to deliver exceptional care through precision and dedication. Your accurate processing of orders, inventory management, and maintenance of a clean work environment are key to top-tier pharmacy support and patient safety.Conducts inspection of assigned nursing units as needed, removes all outdated drugs from the area, and documents all pertinent findings.Accurately fill medication labels as orders are processed for patients (both IV admixture and oral doses).Identifies items, which need to be ordered and records in purchasing log. Checks floor stock supplies and replenishes according to department policy.Checks in deliveries, Places distributor's price stickers on merchandise, and places into stock. Returns items to proper stock location and maintains bar code ID stickers in proper locations.Makes hourly pick-up/delivery rounds to every nursing station. Delivers medication to patient care areas. Rounds are made every hour on time so there is sufficient time to process new orders to be delivered by the next round.Delivers and exchanges 24-hour supply of medication in unit dose cassettes and IV admixtures on a daily basis, according to department policy.Answers telephone and relays messages.
