35F Intelligence Analyst

Overview On the battlefield, success depends on accurate and timely intelligence. As an Army National Guard Intelligence Analyst, you will play a key role in interpreting and exploiting information gathered from or about threats. Intelligence Analysts provide Guard personnel with insight about enemy forces and potential battle areas, using data from all intelligence disciplines to assess changes in enemy capabilities, vulnerabilities, and probable courses of action. You’ll gain Military Intelligence training, education, and a security clearance that could open doors to rewarding career opportunities with other intelligence agencies. Key Responsibilities Specific duties of the Intelligence Analyst may include: Preparing all-source intelligence products to support the combat commander Assessing the significance and reliability of incoming intelligence collection Processing incoming reports and messages Establishing and maintaining systematic, cross-referenced intelligence records and files Integrating incoming information with current intelligence holdings Preparing and maintaining enemy situational graphics Additional Duties Providing ISR synchronization support Skills You’ll Learn Critical thinking Proficiency with sophisticated mapping tools, intelligence networks, and systems to identify evolving threats on the battlefield Using premier digital and analytical tools to gather information and create products for commanders Helpful Skills Analytical thinking and the ability to gather relevant information Interest in reading maps and charts Training & Compensation In the Army National Guard, you will learn valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance and certifications. Job training for an Intelligence Analyst consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) and on-the-job instruction, including practice in intelligence gathering. Completing your initial entry training could also lead to additional college credit. Most non-prior service candidates initially earn between $200 and $250 per drill weekend, subject to change.
