Sentara is hiring Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for our PRISM Awarded Medical Specialties Unit at Sentara Norfolk General in Norfolk, VA!

Shift: Night (7p-7a)

Our unit is recognized for our collective achievements and contributions to the safe, high-quality care we deliver to our patients on a daily basis. Combined our team members have 20+ years certified as medical surgical nurses. We are a 42-bed medical specialties unit. Our diverse patient population includes but is not limited to CHF, sickle cell, renal failure, vascular, sepsis, COPD, pneumonia, osteomyelitis with surgical interventions, wound care and an assortment of varying disease processes.

Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent customer service.

Education:

• BSN Degree REQUIRED

Certification/Licensure:

• Virginia RN License REQUIRED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90-days of hire

Experience:

• 18-months experience REQUIRED

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is a 525-bed tertiary care facility that is home to the only Level I adult trauma center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads, and also serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School.
