Human Resources Coordinator

Hermanson Company is a leading mechanical construction provider in the Puget Sound area, with a long history of delivering high‑quality services. We are currently looking for a Human Resources Coordinator to support our field operations in Amarillo, Texas. The Role The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative support to the Human Resources department and the on‑site construction project in Amarillo, Texas. This is a large, complex, fast‑paced mechanical construction site with union and non‑union employees. Key responsibilities include employee onboarding, HR systems, employee relations, and general HR support for project leaders. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service, sound judgment, and collaboration skills. The Environment This position is based on an active construction site. The HR Coordinator will work out of a field trailer and spend time supporting employees and leaders in a live project environment. Expect a hands‑on setting with dust, noise, and changing weather. Work boots and appropriate job‑site attire are required. Key Responsibilities Perform clerical and customer service functions for the HR department and project leadership. Assist HR Generalists with new hire onboarding, processing new hire paperwork and I‑9 completion. Process new hire background checks and drug screens. Create and maintain employee files. Maintain and update EEO data spreadsheets. Perform verifications of employment. Process terminations and conduct exit interviews. Assist with scheduling interviews and drafting offer letters. Perform other related duties as assigned. Compensation The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000. Compensation may vary based on experience. Required Skills & Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to function well in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures is a plus. Familiarity with construction and/or union workforce is a plus. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience. At least two years of related HR or admin experience required.
