Make an impact in the lives of elementary students as a Life Skills Special Education Teacher in a supportive educational environment near Grandview, WA. This contract opportunity offers the chance to collaborate with dedicated staff and shape individualized learning experiences for students with diverse needs. The assignment runs from August 12, 2026, through June 15, 2027, with a commitment of 35 hours over five days each week.

Qualifications:

• Valid Washington Special Education Certification is required
• Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher, especially in Life Skills programs, highly desirable
• Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and effective classroom management
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner with families, support staff, and related service providers
• Passion for fostering independence and skills development in elementary-aged students

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement specialized instruction in a Life Skills classroom tailored to students’ unique learning and functional needs
• Develop, review, and update IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and adjust strategies as appropriate
• Foster an encouraging and inclusive classroom atmosphere supporting social, emotional, and academic growth
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to deliver cohesive support
• Participate in meetings, ongoing professional development, and school events, contributing to the school community
