Contract | Travel | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 36 hours per week guaranteed | 13-week assignment | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care on a Neurosurgical unit, caring for patients with stroke, seizures, MS, back/head/spinal, and other neurological diagnoses or neurosurgery procedures
• Maintain professional accountability for the provision of patient care for assigned patients and evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers
• Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable standards
• Float within scope of practice as needed and assume occasional charge nurse responsibilities when required
• Work weekends on a standard every-other-weekend rotation (Saturday and Sunday) and be available for at least one major winter holiday per assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient acute care experience in Medical Surgical and Neuroscience/Neurology
• Current BLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Willingness to take on occasional charge nurse responsibilities
• Must be able to complete an on-site FIT test

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with EPIC EMR
• Prior experience caring for neurosurgical patient populations including stroke and seizure patients
