Additional Information About the Role Bring your leadership skills beyond the bedside in this PRN House Supervisor opportunity with BJC HealthCare. In this hospital‑wide role, you'll serve as the on‑site nursing leader, supporting staffing operations, patient throughput, and clinical excellence across Barnes St. Peters and Progress West Hospitals. As a key operational resource, you'll collaborate with nursing leaders, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams while responding to rapid responses, patient concerns, falls, staffing needs, and other hospital‑wide priorities. The 102‑bed community hospital provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services including the Siteman Cancer Center, the Breast Health and Women’s Center, the Cardiology Center, the Neurosurgery Center and the Outpatient Surgery and Endoscopy Center. Barnes‑Jewish St. Peters Hospital is an Accredited Chest Pain Center and carries a Level II stroke certification. The hospital’s medical office building houses offices for specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, dermatology, surgery and pulmonology. Barnes‑Jewish St. Peters Hospital also offers outpatient services including physical therapy, a sleep lab, and cardio‑pulmonary rehabilitation. Responsibilities Manages individuals including hiring, training, assigning work, managing & evaluating performance, and conducting professional development plans to support overall operational goals. Supervises the delivery of safe and appropriate patient care across the organization, effectively responding to special circumstances and acting as the on‑site leader. Assists with patient care operations and integration of services between departments. Assists in the clinical development of nursing staff, observing and coaching staff in performance of clinical duties and interpersonal interactions, and monitoring unit compliance with regulatory guidelines. Functions as a liaison between Administration and all departments and customers. May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue, and/or expense budgets and have responsibility for adhering to those goals.
