Key Position Details This intern position will be working in a busy radiology department that supports outpatients and emergency/urgent care departments Casual position with day, evening, and weekend hours available Job Description Provides safe, quality patient care, performing limited radiographic procedures while assisting technologists with transport and care of patients. Maintains electronic files, distributes patient reports and coordinates information flow between patients and units. Other patient care and clerical functions as assigned. Principle Responsibilities Serves as link between physicians, clinics and service departments. Performs limited radiographic procedures and related duties as assigned. Enters orders and schedules exams as needed. Communicates physician requests to appropriate department staff. Coordinates workflow with clinics, service departments and physicians. Prioritizes customer needs. Provides information regarding special instructions, exam preps, arrival times or special needs. Keeps leadership advised of any issues or concerns. Assists Technologist in delivering patient care. Screens patients for exam. Delivers necessary imaging supplies. Transports, transfers and positions patient. Distributes completed exam to radiologist for interpretation. Restocks and prepares exam room for procedures. Provides image and data management. Ensures secure and appropriate access of patient information. Documents image data release in the electronic medical record (EMR). Demonstrates knowledge of the electronic storage and retrieval system (EMI). Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School or GED Currently enrolled in JRCERT accredited radiologic program – Radiologic Imaging Preferred Qualifications Previous patient care experience Medical Terminology Licenses/Certifications BLS Tier 1 – Basic Life Support – Multisource required by completion of orientation within 30 Days State of MN. Limited scope x-ray operators exam based on the successful completion of chest, spine, extremity and skull/sinus modules. Must provide documentation of passing results. Current or recent participation in a clinical radiology student rotation Physical Demands Medium Work*: Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently Pay Range Flat Rate: $20.00 per hour* This position is paid on a standard non-negotiable hourly rate. Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
