Diesel Mechanic

This opportunity for on the job training while you're in school is a great jump-starter for your career. While here you will work with the best in the field maintaining transportation vehicles and district equipment; making necessary repairs according to code or maintenance schedules so that vehicles and equipment are available and operate safely, effectively and efficiently. Although your primary job will be as a diesel mechanic, the district will also train you to become a back-up bus driver to help fill in, on occasion, should the need arise.
POSITION: Mechanic - Diesel
LOCATION: Transportation
RATE OF PAY: 2026-2027 Pay Rate $36.48
EDUCATION /CERTIFICATION: High school graduate or equivalent. Bus drivers training CDL required within first 3 months of employment. Vocational technical graduate in truck repair/mechanics required.
EXPERIENCE: Three years mechanical truck repair experience. Five years good driving record. Supervisory experience preferred.
HOURS PER DAY: 8
START & ENDING TIME: 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM
WORKING DAYS PER YEAR: 260
TESTING REQUIRED: To be determined
