Research Technician III - Molecular Virology & Microbiology Job Title Research Technician III - Molecular Virology & Microbiology Job Details Work Arrangement: Onsite only Location: Houston, TX Salary Range: $39,150 - $46,059 FLSA Status: Nonexempt Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Summary The position is for a technician to provide research assistance for the establishment and propagation of 3D organoid cultures as part of the Baylor College of Medicine 3D Organoid Core. This job is suitable for someone who can handle multiple tasks and can follow instructions to complete assignments under minimal supervision by a higher-level research staff member. Technical skills need include sterile technique for the maintenance and culturing of cells, flow cytometry, microscopy, and RT-qPCR. A responsible and dedicated individual is required. This position will offer a unique and rewarding translational research experience in a dynamic and highly productive core facility. Job Duties Establishing, validating, and maintaining organoid cultures Collecting, compiling, and analyzing validation results on the cultures Documentation and storage of cultures Data entry into Core databases Contribution to core maintenance including ordering supplies, general clean up, freezer cataloging, and maintaining lab equipment. Perform other job related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement. One year of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in basic science or a related field. Tissue culture experience required.
