Executive Director, Research - Integrative Sciences — Neuroscience

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks an Executive Director to lead neuroscience external innovation strategy within Integrative Sciences. This senior role identifies and advances high-value collaborations with biotech and academic partners, serving as a key interface across research, development, and business functions.

Responsibilities

• Communicate internal neuroscience pipeline priorities and align external opportunity evaluation with BMS research strategy
• Lead disciplined triage and evaluation of external neuroscience opportunities including biotech partnerships and academic collaborations
• Form and direct cross-functional diligence teams for collaborative opportunity assessment and due diligence
• Design practical collaboration plans with clear scientific objectives, milestones, governance structures, and success measures
• Serve on joint governance committees with academic and industry partners, representing BMS interests and ensuring scientific and operational accountability

Requirements

• PhD or equivalent advanced degree in neuroscience, CNS biology, or related nervous system disease field
• 10+ years drug discovery and early development experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry
• Deep, hands-on expertise in neuroscience research
• Experience evaluating and managing external scientific collaborations and partnerships
• Demonstrated cross-functional leadership and scientific communication skills
• Familiarity with governance structures and regulatory/compliance oversight
